choose around your next session.

Our take: the useful question is how much of your workout you want to plan yourself, and what helps you come back for the next one.

PR vs Hevy: solo focus or training with friends?

If seeing friends’ sessions helps you stay consistent, Hevy’s community and shared routines are reasons to consider it. Its charts and personal records also support tracking your own progress. Hevy sources.

PR combines a quiet log with routines built around your training setup, exact Chase targets, and Primed chat that uses your training history. Ask it to change a saved routine and you can undo the edit in the conversation. Choose PR if that guidance and focus matter to you and an iPhone beta fits your setup; consider Hevy if community or Android access is a priority.

PR vs Strong: bring your plan or build a session?

Already have a program you like repeating? Strong’s reusable templates, configurable logging, and PRO progress charts make it worth considering. It also supports Android and Apple Watch. Strong sources.

PR also saves routines, but can generate them from your goals, experience, training days, equipment, and available time. Change your training setup and PR offers to rebuild them. You can also ask Primed to swap an exercise in a saved routine, then undo that change if it does not fit. Try PR if you want that help alongside your log and Chase targets.

PR vs Fitbod: conversational coaching or adaptive programming?

Fitbod is worth considering if you want the app to generate exercises, sets, reps, and weights around your equipment, goals, and recovery. Its recommendations evolve with your logged workouts. Fitbod sources.

PR builds saved routines and pairs your log with Primed, a conversational AI coach. It can use your routines, recent sessions, PRs, and body metrics to answer questions and make requested routine edits. An optional on-device mode supports offline coaching on compatible iPhones.

PR does not currently run recurring coaching check-ins or automatically adjust training blocks and calorie or macro targets each week. Consider Fitbod for its adaptive workout recommendations; try PR if you want saved routines, visible PR targets, and a coach you can ask to change your workouts.
